Sound Healing

Sound Healing

"If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration." Nikola Tesla's famous words have served as a guiding principle throughout Chuck Plaisance's life and work. Nowhere is this more evident than in his decades-long exploration of sound as a healing force -- a journey that has taken him from recording humpback whales in the Silver Banks to co-producing 65 therapeutic CDs, from conducting seminars at medical universities to earning certification as a Harmonist of Sound Wave Energy.

Roots in Healing Traditions

Chuck's connection to healing runs deep -- all the way back to the bayous of Louisiana, where his grandmother served as a Traiteur, a Cajun Faith Healer. This early exposure to the intersection of spirituality and wellness planted seeds that would later blossom through Chuck's study of Buddhism, his practice of TaeKwonDo with Davis Kief and Kung Fu with David Hsieh, and his lifelong meditation practice. In 2016, Chuck earned a Certificate for Remote Viewing with Crystals in India, further deepening his understanding of vibrational healing modalities.

Chuck's approach to sound healing is grounded in what he calls the fundamental truth of existence: "Everything is Vibration. You are a Resonator." His voice -- which naturally produces energy, frequency, vibration, resonance, and harmonics -- becomes the primary instrument of healing.

Sound Wave Energy: 65 CDs of Healing Frequencies

One of Chuck's most significant healing collaborations has been with Nicole Lavoie of Sound Wave Energy (SWE). Together, they co-produced an extraordinary catalog of 65 CDs organized into four therapeutic series:

Chuck is a Certified Harmonist of Sound Wave Energy, a designation that recognizes his expertise in the therapeutic application of specific frequencies and harmonic structures.

Tinnitus Therapy: Pioneering Work with Auric Hoersystems

In 2009, Chuck partnered with Auric Hoersystems in Germany to produce and release 8 CDs specifically designed for tinnitus therapy and relaxation. These recordings represent a remarkable fusion of Chuck's 3D spatial sound expertise with therapeutic intent:

Each recording uses binaural techniques to create a fully immersive listening experience that goes beyond simple relaxation -- the spatial dimension of the sound engages the brain in ways that flat stereo recordings cannot.

Academic and Medical Recognition

Chuck's sound healing work has been recognized by academic and medical institutions. He has conducted seminars at the Dusseldorf School of Music on 3D Sound Recording and its applications, and at the University of Medicine in Muenster on the specific topic of tinnitus therapy through spatial sound. These presentations bridge the gap between artistic innovation and clinical application, demonstrating how 3D recording technology can serve therapeutic purposes.

Sacred Sound: The Monks, the Whales, and Beyond

Some of Chuck's most profound healing sound work exists at the intersection of nature, spirituality, and technology. His 3D underwater recordings of humpback whales at the Silver Banks capture one of nature's most mysterious healing sounds in fully immersive spatial audio. His production of "Sacred Earth" with the Gaden Shartse Monks of Tibet -- created as a gift for the Dalai Lama -- brought the ancient healing power of Tibetan chanting into three-dimensional recorded space.

Additional healing-oriented recordings include "Garden of the Goddess" with Tajali (3D nature sounds with Native Flutes), "Healing Vibes, Paradiso" (3D didgeridoo recordings), "Forest Light" (described as "the spiritual side of Chuck"), and the extensive nature sound libraries that serve both relaxation and therapeutic purposes.

The Vision Ahead

Chuck's sound healing work continues to evolve. His forthcoming book The Healing Powers of Sound will explore the energetic architecture of the human voice, harmonic resonance and frequency consciousness, sacred geometry and vibrational healing, and the voice as spiritual conduit. His Bali Temple of Sound and Light project envisions a sacred space where 3D sound, water, sacred geometry, and the human voice combine for transformative healing experiences.

Portrait

From the bayou faith healers of his childhood to the cutting edge of spatial audio therapy, Chuck Plaisance has followed a singular thread: the conviction that sound, properly understood and applied, has the power to heal the body, calm the mind, and nourish the spirit.
