Productions

Chuck Plaisance's production career spans four decades and touches nearly every corner of the entertainment industry -- from Grammy-nominated albums to Disney theme park attractions, from IMAX features to video games, from Japanese pop records to children's audiobooks. As a 20-plus year voting member of NARAS (the Grammy Awards), a member of the Society of Composers and Lyricists (SCL), the Audio Engineering Society (AES), and BMI, Chuck has built a production resume that reads like a history of modern entertainment.

The Grammy Connection

Chuck's connection to the Grammy Awards runs deep. He has been a NARAS voting member for over 20 years -- a milestone recognized with an official certificate of membership. His production work has contributed to two Grammy-nominated albums by jazz legend Ernestine Anderson: Now and Then and Blues, Dues and Love News, both of which featured Quincy Jones as Executive Producer and Stixx Hooper as Producer, with Chuck serving as Spatial Sound Consultant.

The Michael Jackson Era

One of the defining chapters of Chuck's production career began in 1987 when Chris Currell of the Michael Jackson "Bad" Band hired Chuck to manage his Synclavier Studio at Audio Cybernetics. Chuck provided international tour support for the three Synclaviers used on the second leg of the legendary "Bad" Tour -- an immersion in cutting-edge music technology that would shape his production approach for decades to come.

During this period (1989-1992), Chuck mastered advanced sound sampling, editing, and programming, and was subsequently invited to be one of the sound editors creating the ProSonus first-ever Sound Sample Library -- a foundational contribution to the digital audio industry.
