From the bayous of Galliano, Louisiana to the stages of Hollywood, Germany, Japan, and Brazil -- Chuck Plaisance has spent over five decades as a performing artist, captivating audiences with a voice once described by a priest in Bremen as belonging to "the man with testosterone in his voice." His journey from a shy Cajun boy to an internationally touring frontman is a story of pure passion, grit, and an unwavering love for music.
The Bayou Beginnings
Chuck's musical awakening came early. His mother, Ramona Comeaux Plaisance, would sing "Silent Night" as she rocked him to sleep -- a memory that still shapes the emotional depth of his performances. At age eight, his father Raymond caught him building a guitar out of scrap wood, nails, and string. The following Christmas, at age nine, Raymond gave him his first real guitar with an amplifier and a Johnny Cash songbook. That gift changed everything.
By age eleven, Chuck was singing in the church choir. At twelve, bass player Dennis Guidry invited him to join Flyght, a newly formed rock band in Galliano. From 1971 to 1973, the teenage band cut their teeth playing the clubs and dance halls of South Louisiana. In 1973, Chuck became the original frontman of Halifax, a theatrical classic rock band that would tour the Louisiana circuit for the next five years -- performing at venues like The Safari Club in Galliano, The Iron Horse in Thibodaux, Premiums in Larose, and The Bayou Playhouse in Lockport.

Hollywood and the Big Stage
In 1986, Chuck made the leap to Hollywood. He enrolled at Musicians Institute, and within three months was hired as a vocal instructor. But the stage was always calling. In Los Angeles, Chuck performed at legendary venues including the Sunset Strip clubs, the Hollywood Bowl, the John Anson Ford Theatre, the Greek Theatre, and the Universal Amphitheatre.
One unforgettable night at the Universal Amphitheatre, Chuck sang a duet with Diana Ross -- a moment witnessed by actor Billy Huffsey and seared into Chuck's memory as one of the highlights of his performing career.
During his years in Hollywood, Chuck fronted the MI Classic Rock Band "Hollywood Pro Series" from 1987 to 2003, performing alongside world-class musicians including Tim Bogert (Vanilla Fudge, Rod Stewart, Beck/Bogert/Appice) on bass, Doanne Perry (Jethro Tull) on drums, Steve Dudas (Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne) on guitars, and Howard Laravea (Gary Puckett) on keys.
The European Chapter
Chuck's move to Germany opened an entirely new chapter. Since 2009, he has toured extensively with the Go-Music "All Stars," an ensemble featuring some of Europe's finest musicians. The inaugural 2009 tour was a whirlwind -- 11 concerts in 13 days -- with Chuck on lead vocals and 12-string guitar, Herb Quick (Ray Charles, Little Richard, The Scorpions) on drums, Dennis Hormes (DJ Bobo, Rocky Horror Show) on guitar, and Martin Engelien on bass.
Over the years, the Go-Music roster has included remarkable collaborators: Gregor Hilden, Manni von Bohr, TM Stevens, Rickey Lawson, Leland Sklar, Victor Smolski, and many others.

Frankfurt Musik Messe and Beyond
For over thirteen consecutive years, Chuck was the Featured Solo Artist on the Agoura Stage at the Frankfurt Musik Messe -- one of the world's largest music trade fairs. In 2007, he served as the opening act for Mickey Mooney of Whitesnake, and continued as a headline attraction through 2008, 2009, and beyond. He also performed for five days as Featured Solo Artist at the Frankfurt Book Messe.
His German concert circuit reads like a tour diary of the country's finest clubs and festivals: Meisenfrei in Bremen, Festival Maritim in Vegesack, the Lions Club Old Timers Festival in Rheine, Jazz Keller in Muenster and Kempen, Der Bunte Vogel Blues Club in Muenster, Friedrich and Vitus in Bonn, Harley Davidson Warehouse in Muenster, and dozens more. Press coverage has been extensive, with front-page articles and concert reviews from Rock am Rathaus to the Lengerich newspaper.
International Reach
Chuck's performing career extends far beyond the US and Germany. In Brazil, he earned front-page newspaper coverage under the headline "Chuck Sings Brasil." In Japan, he performed at the Tokyo Music School. In Spain, he played five nights in Mallorca. He has performed at the Talladega NASCAR Motor Raceway in Alabama, the Nurburgring Race Track in Germany for five consecutive nights, and on the Grand Turk Islands in the Dominican Republic.

The Chuck Plaisance Signature Guitar
In 2008, Chuck's status as a performing artist was honored with the release of the Chuck Plaisance Signature Series Guitar -- a 6-string and 12-string acoustic/electric designed by Chuck himself and manufactured by Voggenreiter Verlag. The guitar was launched at the Musik Messe 2008 and remains a testament to his artistry.
Repertoire and Original Music
Chuck maintains a repertoire of over 267 songs spanning classic rock, blues, Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Journey, Bon Jovi, Cream, David Bowie, Rod Stewart, Stevie Wonder, Guns N' Roses, Whitesnake, Elton John, James Taylor, Jeff Beck, and many more. Beyond covers, Chuck is also a songwriter with copyrighted original compositions including "By a Half a Day," "El Matador," "We Got Money," and the full album "In Search of the Shield."
As his bio states: "From the heart he becomes the song and lives the story." That is Chuck Plaisance on stage -- not merely performing music, but inhabiting it.
